While in the process of reorganizing Southeast Michigan Jobs with Justice/Unity Campaign and electing a formal Executive Board, an appointed Convening Committee serves as leadership in between Steering Committee meetings.

Convening Committee members, chosen by acclamation at the Feb. 27 Steering Committee meeting, are:

  • Nicole Current, UAW/GM Dept. (Representing UAW/GM Vice-President Cindy Estrada)
  • Tanise Hill, Metro Detroit AFL-CIO (Representing Metro Detroit AFL-CIO President Rick Blocker)
  • Scott Holiday, Assistant Political Action Director, Michigan United 
  • Marjorie Mitchell, MichUHCAN Organizer (Michigan chapter of the Universal Health Care Action Network)
  • Andrew Sarpolis, Staff person, Sierra Club, Detroit chapter
  • Freddy Polanco, Organizer, SEIU Health Care Division
  • Alternating Peace Movement Representatives to the Convening Committee are:
    • Prasad Venugopal, Board Member, Peace Action of Michigan
    • Laura Dewey, Detroit President, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom
